Nice and Monaco
The cruise is going by way too fast! We anchored near Villefranche just as we were sitting down to breakfast on Tuesday morning. After breakfast we headed to the Pacifica theater on Deck 5 to gather for our excursion. Then we went back down to Deck 2 where our room is to exit the ship and get on a smaller boat to head to the shore. A short trip later, we were boarding the bus to Nice. Spent a couple of hours in Nice which was ...yes, I'm going to say it... nice!!! We went to the flower market and picked up postcards and lavender air freshener for our cruise room...something kinda smells in there and we intend to fix it!

After sampling some fruits, ice cream and anchovy-garlic bread, we went back to the bus and headed to Monaco. There we spent some time in the acquarium before going off on a little tram-tour of the sights in Monaco. The Grand Casino looked magnificent, but we didn't really have time to try to go inside. We found out later from our friends at dinner that you don't really need to be well-dressed to go inside the casino, and more importantly, none of the real gambling takes place during the day when all of the tourists are trying to check the place out. It was nice to see it from the outside though, and maybe someday we'll be able to have a proper visit.

Then it was back to the bus for our ride back to Villefranche for the tender back to the ship. It was a great day to see Nice and Monaco, but we definitely only scratched the surface.
The cruise itself is going well, but we are looking forward to our 1st day at sea so that we can spend a little more time enjoying what the ship has to offer. Today, we just got back from a neat trip to Florence, and tomorrow is our trip to Rome. So, until next time, thanks for reading and see y'all later!
